My Engagement Story

So 5 years ago I got a huge surprise! Keith and I had been dating for a little over a year and I had moved in a couple months prior...so I guess not like the biggest surprise ever, but definitely not expected!

So, if you know me you know I love my birthday...ALOT! Keith told me that he had a full day planned of birthday activities (even though it was 2 days before by birthday...but I think was a Saturday!). I woke up in the morning right away to a gift (I am a big fan of gifts!) then went to the gym in the morning. When I got home...another gift! He told me he had some secret plans for the day after that to be ready by...we will say 3 (I'm actually not sure that is the exact time?! but also not terribly important to this story). I was ready and got in the car to...you guessed it...another gift! We started driving downtown and ended up parking in the Short North. He took me into Rowe Boutique, which happens to be my favorite store...and one for a few years previous I had hosted little birthday parties in! We went in and the girls there had little cupcakes set up and a dressing room full of clothes for me to try on with a cute little happy birthday message on the mirror. I knew Sarah and Maren at Rowe pretty well...so Keith said he had them pull out a bunch of clothes they thought I would like!

So at this point I am thinking...wait?! Maybe I am getting a bunch of these clothes?! AMAZING! I try stuff on....the Rowe girls and Keith tell me to come out to show stuff...kinda strange them all just watching. They say a few times to make sure I check the tags to make sure I have the right size...so I check the actual tag in the clothes...yup, right size. I try a few things on. I really like this leather jacket...check the tag- but see no price. I check a short sleeve sweatshirt thing, no price...but then look again and the tag says....." Jenny, Will you marry me? Love, Keith"....WHAT?!?!?! They had made ALL the tags on all of those clothes say that! I was shocked! I ripped open the curtain (wearing socks & a tank top! Ha) & Keith dropped down on one knee in front of my favorite Rowe girls & our friend Caitlin (CaitRosePhotography.com ) who was there to take pics (can you imagine how hard that was for her to stay hidden when I popped out of the dressing room a few times! Im sure I did not make it easy) and proposed with a super beautiful ring! I was so surprised! (and still kind of wondered if I got the room full of clothes?! haha)

We hung out for a bit, took a few pics (I wish we had thought to take some more then, but I was all mushy brained!) then went to Third and Hollywood for a surprise birthday/engagement dinner that Keith had set up with a bunch of friends and family! It was perfect!

Oh! And if you were wondering I did get some of the stuff that was in the room that I still have and love today! 😉
