Why Beautycounter?

So...I recently decided to sign on to start working with Beautycounter. I feel like it was a long time coming, but was never really ready to take that leap...so why now?!

I started using Beautycounter products about 2 years ago. My friend Jenna had gotten involved not long before that and I was in Nashville (where she lives) & she was excited to tell me about the products! She gave me some samples & talked to me about the mission. It's actually kind of crazy how scary some of the things in beauty products can be!!! I tried the little samples she gave me and decided to buy some stuff! I started with the coutermatch line...some of the products I liked, some I didn't love. I also signed on with the band of beauty membership...I liked the idea of earning rewards that could go toward trying more products. From there I tried the charcoal bar...then dove into some make-up! I loved doing the flawless in five because I got to try a few different products as a discount for getting them all together! I slowly have been swapping out old products for Beautycounter ones as they get used up and have been happy with 99.9% of them!

Jenna had talked with me a few times about possibly joining her...but it never felt right. I never wanted to be "that person", you know...the one that tried to get my friends to buy stuff. We all have had people who send us messages and talk about their products all the time...I NEVER wanted to be like that. I think I was really worried what other people thought of me doing it...instead of just focusing on something I would like to do. The more I thought about it the more I realized I love the thought of sharing the message of safer products, that actually work and that I have used for years before ever thinking of promoting it!

I have had an interesting couple of years. All of my focus has been on reaching goals with CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting. Well (like my blog has talked about a lot!) that all changed with a couple shoulder surgeries I am still rehabbing through. It is good for my mind to have other things to focus on and get involved in! So what better than a product I use and believe in as well as a mission that I support. Plus its super fun to connect with likeminded women to promote safety and empower them to make safer choices as well as possibly get involved in something too!

Also, I do like the thought of making some extra money! That would be a huge lie if I said that wasn't part of it at all! I have been working toward being more in charge of my schedule with work. I like working...I just like doing it more on my own time- schedule my own meetings, working from home some with my pups snuggling with me (like is happening right this second!), and have more control of what my income is. So this gives me an opportunity to do that with something I enjoy!

If you have any questions about Beautycounter at all I would love to help you! 😉

A few facts that I found especially interesting (and scary!):

THE LAST TIME CONGRESS PASSED A LAW REGULATING THE COSMETICS INDUSTRY WAS IN 1938. (wait, 1938?! Seriously?!)

EUROPE HAS BANNED OVER 1400 HARMFUL INGREDIENTS. THE US HAS BANNED ABOUT 30. 🤔

THERE ARE OVER 80,000 CHEMICALS FOUND IN COSMETICS, MAJORITY OF WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED FOR SAFETY. (Yikes!)

Beauty counter has 1500 Products that they will not use in their products! Plus they are working to change the industry and get more products banned. These are some of the things that got me interested...but the quality and performance is what has kept me buying!
