One Year of Renovating
So one year ago we officially bought our house (#middlefieldestate on Instagram 😉!) When we got it it was straight 70s/80s decor...wallpaper everywhere (not like trendy wallpaper we are seeing today) and carpet galore! And the kitchen! Ahhhhh 🙈! A lovely mustard yellow! Surely this place was happening back in the day...but it definitely needed lots of work. I loved the feel of the house right when I saw it...and could see its potential. We had so much wonderful help from friends all last summer. The goal was to get as much done before we moved in as we could...because seriously...once you move in lots of things you want to do just don't seem to matter (we still have doors with no doorknobs, cabinets without handles, and a "dining room" full of random stuff- but none of it for dining 🤷🏼♀️).
I am so thankful we got this house. I love the location and space. I love being able to have people over. And having the project has been SO good for me. Something great to focus on and be creative with at a time I could use a mental distraction.
